Do you ever feel like after you clean the house it should just stay clean? Like forever? And you’ll never have to clean it again?

I do.

And after you take the time to shave your legs (because it’s finally in the 80s and your legs are seeing the light of day again) that should be enough, right? Shave them once and never again.

And the dishes. They’re always getting dirty. Shouldn’t they just stay clean? I mean, after all that effort you put in, it’s the least they could do.

And the floors. After all that time on my hands and knees scrubbing (who am I kidding… I use a mop when I actually get around to it), I shouldn’t have to dust my baby’s legs off after he crawls around picking up dirt and grime as though he were made of microfiber.

And the bills… pay them once and done. Forever.

Am I the only one that feels this way? That fights this illogical battle?

What?! But I just did the laundry.

Yeah, four days ago. Underwear doesn’t wash itself.

But it’s not fair. I don’t have time for this. The baby needs to be changed. Again.

It’s 80some degrees in Chicago today and my mom has taken Malcolm out for a long walk. I’m sitting at my laptop blogging instead of mopping, dusting, doing laundry, washing the floor boards and walls, moving my winter clothes into storage, organizing my closet, folding clothes and everything else that needs to be done. So, with that I will post this, log off and get some uninterrupted quality cleaning done that will be sure to stick.

Or else.
